Just to let you all know, the Main website will be down for an hour or two while I try and update to DotNetNuke 5.2.
Wish me luck!
For the most part the upgrade went well, I did run into a few errors that I needed to search the main DNN website for “Error after install 5.2 Host Settings“, but the site is upgraded! Yeah!
Unfortunately, the upgrade did NOT help in fixing the main issue FOR the Upgrade “Can’t Edit/Update Page Settings fields“, which is driving me nuts!
I first read about this in the current (12/7) issue of Networkworld.com
It is a very interesting idea for a home User, but as the article points out, one would NOT want to have something like this in a Corporate environment!
Need to do some more reading, and budget some money…
Let me know what you think.
Recently, Facebook redid there “Privacy Setting”, and I have seen some comments about them on my Wall…
Here is a cnet.com Blog that talks about configuring them.
How to fix Facebook’s new privacy settings
Hope it helps!
Since my original post to Facebook, some folks have reported some issues…
The biggest issue that I see is that Facebook has by default, made “your” information (Wall Posts, Links, etc.) visible to the Whole World!
And there is a reason for this… Facebook wants to and needs to make money, but the question is how.
There had been talk about making FB a Paid services, but that seems to have been shoot down…
SAY NO TO FACEBOOK BECOMING A PAYSITE
But apparently, 2.6 million FB Fans said no…
Basically, it is about the data… What you post… Who you “talk” to… Where you go… etc.
Google does it and so do most Search Engines… as the blog also points out, it keeps Twitter at bay…
Anyhow…
There is one note of caution, the Screen shoot of the FB settings is INVENTED and is posted as a suggestion to management at Facebook. (I too did NOT read carefully… D’oh!)
I hit many websites during a day, and I am still looking for “tools” to help me, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Here is something that I just caught today… I have NOT tried them yet, but I can and will use IE, Firefox and Chrome to get my “stuff” done, so…
