WordPress vs Drupal – Novice POV

A forum Post that looks at both Drupal and WordPress as a Novice User…

Highlights WordPress as the easier of the two to get up and running…

I have looked at Drupal, but really do not have the time to get into the coding aspect any more…

WordPress.org does hide allot of the Developer stuff, which I am now slowly wanting to explore…

Good read for those that might be interested…

Wake up community – WordPress.org should scare you!

Google Wave

Off the top of my head, I do not remember how I found this, but after watching the Google Wave Developer Preview at Google I/O 2009 video, I signed up for an account, and now I am hooked!

If you have not watched the video, and are still wondering what Google Wave is about, well, imagine being able to “mash” together eMail, IM and Blogging all together in one location/interface!

If Google can pull this off, than folks like eRoom, Lotus Notes, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace are going to have to start to rethink their apps.

I have already started to use it for a Business Project and have seen the benefits of an Open-Real-Time collaboration environment!

One of the main objectives of Wave is to be an Open Source environment that anyone can setup and use.

Bottom line… Keep and eye on this!

Update – 10-May-17

Pogoplug – Easy File Sharing

I first read about this in the current (12/7) issue of Networkworld.com

Pogoplug: A wolf in sheep’s clothing

It is a very interesting idea for a home User, but as the article points out, one would NOT want to have something like this in a Corporate environment!

Need to do some more reading, and budget some money…

Let me know what you think.

Web Toys – Browser Add-Ons

I hit many websites during a day, and I am still looking for “tools” to help me, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Here is something that I just caught today… I have NOT tried them yet, but I can and will use IE, Firefox and Chrome to get my “stuff” done, so…

Firefox note-taking add-ons are Web supersavers
